About Mt. Ararat

Mt. Ararat Baptist Church is a place where unconditional love changes lives. We have a long history in San Antonio, Texas. Since the first Sunday of April 1891, MABC and its members have been serving the spiritual needs of this community. For forty years, under the leadership of Pastor Jim Richardson, this ministry has been leading people to Christ through the emulation of God's love. This heritage has continued through the ministry of Pastor Peter Lawson, as we continue to allow God's presence to cultivate an atmosphere where souls are saved and the captives are set free.

Plan to visit us this week. Let us know you're coming and we'll have a welcome packet for you. Feel free to call us or email us. God bless and remember, "It is by grace you have been saved through faith."

Meet Our Leadership Team

"People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care."

Pastor Peter Lawson

Senior Pastor: Peter Lawson's favorite quote is "People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care." Mt. Ararat is a church that loves God's people, serves God's people, empowers God's people, and disciples God's people into a relationship with their heavenly Father that cultivates and provides a place of safety, peace, and acceptance. We share the love of God without compromising the principles of God. Contact him at peterlawson@mtararatsa@gmail.com.

Deacon Robert Thompson

Chairman of Deacon: Elder Thompson has faithfully served as a vessel at Mt. Ararat for many years. His unwavering faith in God has brought him to this season of life. His favorite principle is, "The race is not given to the swift nor the battle to the strong but to the one who endures to the end."

Minister Teresa Martinez

Associate Minister: Minister Martinez is best known for an organization she founded known as Kingdom Women. She is involved in various ministries throughout the church community, including Prison Ministry, Prayer Ministry, and other areas of this fellowship.

Our Core Values

Our mission is to serve all people with the word of God providing a place of safety, peace, and acceptance to impact and empower.

Love People: God has given us a vision that everything done in this ministry should start with and be motivated by love. 1 John 4:1-8 teaches that God is love and everything must begin with Him.

Empower People: James 1:27 teaches that the church is responsible for caring for those who are weak, helpless, those without a voice, and those who are deemed powerless. I the church does not look out for the marginalized, the desolate, the hurting, the oppressed, the powerless, and the voiceless, who will? This is our responsibility.

Serve People: In Matthew 25:35-40, Christ taught us that we have to meet people at their point of need: where they are physically, relationally, and emotionally.

Disciple People: Matthew 28:18-20 teaches us how we should take interest and get invested in each other's lives --- practicing and teaching everything Jesus taught His disciples.
